MSCC Gives Clothes to Help Kids at Weaver Elementary School

Mid-South Community College, with the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society taking the lead, opened its collective pockets to reach out to students at Weaver Elementary School for the holiday season.

MSCC, which also “adopted” a class last year, raised $957 for the 2012 effort, and the money went toward clothing items that included sweatshirts, jeans, and T-shirts.

MSCC Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Inducts 32 New Members

Mid-South Community College’s Beta Epsilon Psi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inducted 32 new members during its fall semester ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 29.

With the second consecutive large induction class, Beta Epsilon Psi earned a Level 5 Pinnacle Award for increasing its membership by 61 percent over 2011. The Pinnacle Award recognizes chapters and regions for successfully enhancing recruitment and orientation strategies.
