Regular registration for Mid-South Community College’s spring 2015 semester has ended, but students still have the opportunity to enroll in life-changing courses and educational/technical programs.
Late registration will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 9 a.m.-noon and 3 p.m.-6 p.m., in the Donald W. Reynolds Center on MSCC’s South Campus.
Mid-South’s spring classes are scheduled to begin Jan. 12 and continue through May 4.
First-time students who have not already registered should bring high school transcripts and placement test scores (ACT, SAT, ASSET or COMPASS). A completed application for admission is required as well, and students are also encouraged to bring a copy of their shot records showing immunization for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).
Students who have attended another college or university should also bring transcripts showing the courses they have completed at those other campuses.
Learning options at MSCC include certificates of proficiency, technical certificates, associate degrees, courses leading to professional certifications, and classes for personal enrichment and professional development. The college offers something for almost anyone interested in pursuing general and/or technical education.
MSCC has also partnered with regional institutions to provide high-demand, four-year degree opportunities at the University Center on the South Campus. Some postgraduate courses are also available at the UC.
Mid-South features one of the best tuition rates in the area, and several services that require additional fees at other institutions are free at MSCC (including academic coaching/tutoring and parking).
Federal financial aid is still available for those who qualify. To seek assistance for the 2014-2015 academic year, students should apply online at http://fafsa.ed.gov/. MSCC’s federal school code is 015862. Students who register on Jan. 12 should come prepared to pay or make arrangements to pay for their classes. Financial aid will be applied at a later date, and money will be refunded as appropriate. Please note that a $100 late registration fee applies to students who register beginning Jan. 12.
