Regular registration for Arkansas State University Mid-South’s fall 2015 semester has ended, but students still have the opportunity to enroll in life-changing courses and educational/technical programs.
Late registration will be held on Monday, Aug. 24, 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.-6 p.m. in the Donald W. Reynolds Center (RC 121) on the South Campus.
ASU Mid-South has scheduled nearly 350 classes and labs for the fall term, and first-time as well as returning students will find high-quality academic programs and state-of-the-art technologies designed to enhance the higher learning process. They will also find friendly and knowledgeable employees eager to help them succeed.
Fall classes are scheduled to begin Aug. 24 and continue through Dec. 15.
First-time students who have not already registered should bring high school transcripts and placement test scores (ACT, SAT, ASSET or COMPASS). A completed application for admission is required as well (available online), and students are also encouraged to bring a copy of their shot records showing immunization for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).
Students who have attended other colleges or universities should also bring transcripts showing the courses they have completed.
Learning options at ASU Mid-South include certificates of proficiency, technical certificates, associate degrees, courses leading to professional certifications, and classes for personal enrichment and professional development. The college offers something for almost anyone interested in pursuing general and/or technical education.
ASU Mid-South offers credit classes in Addiction Studies; Allied Health Sciences (Medical Assisting, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, Respiratory Care, and Emergency Medical Technician); Art; Aviation Maintenance Technology; Biology; Business; Chemistry; Computer Applications; College Survival; Computer Basics; Criminal Justice; Developmental English, Math, and Reading; Cultural Anthropology; Diesel Technology; Digital Media (audio and video production); Economics; Education; English; Geography; History; Health and Physical Education; Hospitality Management; Information Systems Technology; Machine Technology; Manufacturing/Mechatronics; Math; Music; Philosophy; Political Science; Physical Science; Process Technology; Psychology; Sociology; Spanish; and Welding.
ASU Mid-South has also partnered with regional institutions to provide high-demand, four-year degree opportunities at the University Center on the South Campus. Some postgraduate courses are also available through the UC.
The college features one of the best tuition rates in the area, and several services that require additional fees at other institutions are free (including academic coaching/tutoring and parking).
Federal financial aid is still available for those who qualify. To seek assistance for the 2015-2016 academic year, students should apply online at http://fafsa.ed.gov/. ASU Mid-South’s federal school code is 015862. Students who register on Aug. 24 should come prepared to pay or make arrangements to pay for their classes. Financial aid will be applied at a later date, and money will be refunded as appropriate.
Please note that a $100 late registration fee applies to students who register beginning Aug. 24.
