The Second Annual Greyhound 5k event at Mid-South Community College will include something for everyone, and young participants will have plenty of opportunities for fun and games. The festivities are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5.

“We have some great activities planned for kids,” said Race Director Patti Coleman, MSCC Director of Advancement. “We’re working with Operation Moon Bounce of Memphis, and they have a bunch of new cool attractions to showcase at the Greyhound 5k. Our goal is to have a first-class event for people of all ages.”

A 400-meter “Pup Dash,” an inflatables playground, face painting, balloon art, a train, and a carnival swing ride will be included in the “Kids’ Zone.” In addition, Upper Limit Aviation, which is working with MSCC to deliver professional pilot training, will have a helicopter on display.

The registration fee for the Pup Dash is $10, and all entrants will receive a Greyhound 5k tech shirt.
Online registration for the event remains available at http://greyhound5k.racesonline.com through midnight, Thursday, Oct. 3. The adult registration fee is $25 beginning Monday, Sept. 30, and runners/walkers can register the day of the race as well, 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Students at Mid-South Community College and area high schools remain eligible for $10 registration through midnight, Thursday, Oct. 3. Students should select either the Mid-South Community College Students or Crittenden County High School Students category.
