MSCC Offering Business Startup/Expansion Classes Starting Feb. 25

Mid-South Community College will host a series of low-cost, non-credit classes to assist local entrepreneurs in starting their own business or expanding an existing one to create additional employment opportunities in the region.

Operation JumpStart training will begin Monday, Feb. 25, at MSCC’s Workforce Technology Center (Room 102) on the College’s North Campus, 2000 West Broadway, West Memphis.

The 36-hour training program includes business concept development, market research and analysis, and pricing and financial projections. All classes are taught by certified instructors, and meeting days and times will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m.

Class participants will complete numerous in- and out-of-class assignments relevant to the business realm. Real-world applications and connections will be emphasized. Students also have the opportunity to share their business idea or concept with people who can help them realize their dream.

MSCC is working with the Delta Regional Authority, the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Southeast Missouri State University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program to provide the training.
